Epic has paused most product development for about six weeks to fix vulnerabilities surfaced by Anthropic's Mythos security model. Chief Security Officer Stirling Martin said some MyChart configurations could let outsiders read patient records without leaving a trace in the logs. MyChart holds more than 320 million patient records. Epic has not said any data was taken.

Why it matters

Your patient portal is part of your clinical risk. Ask your EHR vendor or health system which fixes apply to your configuration and when. The bigger shift: AI is now finding healthcare security holes faster than vendors can close them, and every longevity practice running on connected data needs a plan for that.
